Update, sort of

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again as I continue to slog my way through really difficult but important material. SLPs...when did you truly feel comfortable in your field? Does the feeling of confusion ever really go away?

What are your weekend plans? I wish I had some, but I have really got to hit the books. Quiz on Monday and two tests on Wednesday. Bills are paid for the month and probably going to dinner with a friend but other than that, it's all study, study, study around here.

You know you're a SLP in training when....

I love this blog: http://whatshouldwecallslp.tumblr.com/

Right on, right on bro.

Anxiety Disorders and Panic Attacks: Alison Sommer at TEDxCarletonCollege

This is one of the most poignant, real, and frightening representations of panic/anxiety disorders I've seen and it's worth the watch. The first step to mental health progress is awareness and openness, which this girl does well. Well worth the 15 minutes, give it a watch....

Saturday before Thanksgiving

I had such high hopes of getting up early and getting stuff done. Instead, I slept until 9 and stayed in bed to stay warm until 10. Such is the life of a grad student. I did enjoy my time to myself, but I really feel guilty now for not being more productive. I will go see the new Hunger Games movie guilt free and then get to working. :) It will be glorious.

Less than two weeks before Thanksgiving

Don't tell me that. Seriously.

Because I will slack. Big time.

I am watching Bye Bye Birdie on TV currently. It's 1:25 am on a Sunday Morning.

I have spent the last 10 hours reading, analyzing language, SALTING, and reading my VOICE DISORDERS TEXTBOOK. I think I have deserved a change to veg out, but no, I have been setting up a blog for my ECE students and their children's lit reviews.

I long to be in Atlanta with family and Cameron's family, but I am here. Two weeks and I will be celebrating. But until then I deal. With life. ECE folks that will change the world. Speech therapy that will separate us from the animals. OK State Speech therapy will save the world. One child/adult at a time. And I am a small part of it. Love you all!
